    a few I like, in no particular order.......

    Life is Beautiful (Italian)
    La Haine (French)

    im gonna say Cidade De Deus (City Of God - Portugese),
    Abre Los Ojos (Open Your eyes - spanish (original for vanilla sky &#33)
    Y Tu Mama Tambien (and your mother too - spanish)

    bit spanish influenced but they my fav's

    Hmmm....Irreversible....French film with the Italian actress Monica Beluchi....I think there is an Italian version floating around also. Great film by the way. Really powerful though, espechially the murder and rape scenes.

    Man Bites Dog.
    A Belgian film about a Serial-Killer. Very funny and a bit disturbing in places. Ideal!!

    Hidden Fortress.

    Yojimbo.

    Seven Samurai.

    Ran.
    All are classic Japanese Samurai films by Akira Kurosawa. Hidden Fortress is the inspiration behind Star Wars.

    Ring.
    Excellant Japanese Horror/Chiller flick.

    The Killer.

    Hard Boiled.
    Classic John Woo, before he went Hollywood.

    God of Gamblers.
    Chow Yun Fat is brilliant in this film!!

    What about all the Jackie Chan films before he went to America?? Drunken Master, Snake In Eagles Shadow, Etc. And then there's Anime!! The list is almost endless.....
