You can't ban them but you can kick them off the net. It is not a permanent solution since their IP changes everytime they log on again (except if they have a static IP). Just download off 'the bad person' and monitor your traffic using a network or packet sniffer. If you do that you can get their IP and nuke/kick them off the net. Windows 95, 98 and NT are easy to kill, even if they have been patched. Windows 2000 and XP are more difficult, especially when a firewall is in use. Then you would have to flood the firewall first and after that try to take down 2000 and XP's most vulnerable part, the remote procedure call (RPC). You can actually shut down that service from a remote location and 2000 and XP would be forced to reboot.

who agrees?
I agree that this is a repetitive topic posted by many and that it should be moved as it is not related to a direct k-lite problem.

Here is why some people change the names...
My top 6 list:
- The original name is too long to burn on a CDR, so you have to change it. Then you decide to share it, but can't remember the original name.
- The original name sucks and contains porno words, that the new Kazaalite will not allow you to share.
- The original file has foul language in it, and the user doesn't want to get busted (by others) for having bad stuff on the PC.
- The original file name has nothing to do with the contents of the file.
- Some jerk just wants to be different by changing names, but doesn't realize doing this attracts more uploads from him, because he actually made that file rare. Rare files attract more uploads.
- Some people are just plain stupid.

And, don't forget, to piss other users off. All this complaining probably provokes other users to fake file names to get on their nerves or, taking brand new movies for instance, to con people into D/L ing the film which is about 600/700 MB only to find out it is fake.

Kazaa should have a points system. So if u send too many fake files u cant download correct files yourself.
How annoying would that be to those morons who do it?
