Hey 007, so any review on the Leeware server ? I am kind of planning of getting a low cost seedbox for initial testing.

I didnt know paypal will ask for a credit card or bank account on subscription payments, although my paypal accnt has got enough money . Damn, my credit card is not international.

will have to wait some more time to get a seedbox :sigh:, unless someone wants to share one with me

i had a leeware seedbox, it's ok but don't expect super speeds, download was about 1-3mb/s and upload was about 1-2mb/s max, and if you get the 15$ deal you can't run more then 3-4 torrents or the system goes dead slow (pages barley load, i had to reset my server many times), if you have a bit more money go with a package with more ram and CPU or go with a dedicated server...

Thanks for the thread 007. Was very informative! I'm still not sure what a seedbox does? Are they basically the boxes that will receive the torrent first and subsequently start seeding first? It seems the whole point of this is to get on a network with kick ass bandwidth. Is there something I'm missing? Perhaps they are also registered within the trackers to provide them with content right away through an RSS feed or something?

    Sorry for the newb questions/comments.

basically what you said is right, most of the time these boxes are used by initial seeders for private or public torrent sites, but also sometimes to kick up ratios on private torrent sites, basically anyone who has low bandwidth can use this... if they can afford it
