Trying to cheat your ratio on OiNK's Pink Palace is a really Bad Idea. I have all the cheat clients and I find ways to detect them. Our tracker has grown to 1500 lines of code, most of it for cheat detection.
As far as ratio, it pays not to get greedy and download everything at once. Any torrent that gets "snatched" (your client sending a completed event) once in 28 days will stay around providing it doesn't go unseeded for several days at a time. The more popular something is, the more likely it'll be there forever.
