lol omg big deal. just ban him and go. this happens everyday everywhere. what makes this any different?? I'm pretty sure there is way worse things that can be done? How about someone selling the rips they get on OiNK for $5-10 each?

Just banning him and letting it go would just mean he'd take on another alias and do it all over again. This is a more proactive stance in protecting the integrity of our filesharing community.

yeah but its not like you're gonna stop it. im pretty sure a good cash flow of $1000/day atleast is made selling invites to sites.

example: i googled oink invites for sale. look what i found

Maybe we won't, but (hopefully) this will stop a few people from considering selling them. I know I wouldn't want my ID plastered all over like a wanted poster.

This is taking it too far because it's putting oink at way high risk of the kid calling the police about people harrassing him. Then the police take a look at the webpage on oink with his details, go wtf? and start investigating.

Next thing you know, they're trying to "infiltrate" private filesharing sites in some insane "investigation" which they will be ridiculously proud of. Then one day we'll be watching TV and there'll be some documentary with some idiot cop bragging about how they infiltrated all these "underground websites" with people plotting to harrass some 16 year old kid from the Bronx who was selling on ebay.

Anyways, the police and any media coverage would have about zero sympathy for the filesharing sites, whereas nobody would really pick on a 16 year old kid. So at the end of the day, it is dumb as hell to go after this kid like this.

Ugh.

u forgot that he uses his father's paypal account probably without permison, so it's not that simple u r describing it.

besides what the police can do, site is hosted in holland, so us police can do nothing , nothing at all, well they may take a trip to holland and smoke some legal weed , that's all.
