Personally, I can remember what they told me in school a waaay long time ago (who knows if it is true): "Iceland is green, Greenland is ice". Quite easy to remember

your right, the geniouses that found Iceland thought it was so great and beautiful that they didnt want to shear it with many others so they called it Iceland to scear of people.
