Anything that hookd closeley into the system will need to be written specifically with Vista in mind.
Also bear in mind if you're going for Vista x64, anything that installs drivers (firewall, for instance) will need to be specifically written for Vista x64; Vista 32bit versions will not work.

When looking for security programs for Vista, make sure they specifically state its Vista compatable. Otherwise, its not and it wont run correctly.
