ok i talked to this guy more than a week ago.
he showed me screenshots of his server before i gave him any details.
i also questioned his english but it seems he just lives in london not born there, it does get difficult talking to him but he is a good person.
he has been seeding for me on a few sites, and everything is fine with them, actually im very happy with them.i have never given him my details only files.
i read this thread again trying to find where he said he wanted account details but i couldnt find it.
i also know how easy it is for ppl to cheat this way with ratio fakers but he seems pretty legit to me.
so to answer all your questions im glad none of you got him to seed for you leaves more for me.

even if someone doesn't ask for your account details, just realize that you're giving them your personalized passkey. they can download anything else from the site with that.

also, how do you know that this person is not working for some copyright enforcement agency? they could be connecting to torrents and harvesting IP addresses for future legal action.

people really need to use some common sense. not everyone is out to help you, even if it may seem that way. not saying that's what this person is doing, but you all really need to keep safety and security in mind on these boards.

Yep, this is definitely risky. However, if we have copyright narcs on this board, we have whole lot of other problems - like the entire invite section.

I don't think that's entirely impossible. google "bittorrent invites" and look at what pops up first. these people have the technology and understanding of the bittorrent protocol, enough to produce fake clients which harvest IP addresses. just look at some of the names of the fake trackers that they've produced:

it wouldn't be entirely unimagineable for someone to become s1LLYk3n (or some other l33tsp33k login) make a bunch of dumb n00b posts anywhere on this forum, then gain access to the invites section. people give out free invites, you never know who you're giving them to. a screenshot of a ratio, with the username blanked out doesn't prove anything about your identify.

Yes, that was my point. If there are copyright narcs, it's a problem for every single thread, not just this one. Saying not to trade with xxx because he might be a fed is something you could post on nearly every single thread in the invite section, and is therefore rendered meaningless unless you have some evidence.

I just have to say that kampuz is OK and all that shit talk from some of you that
he's cheating, is just that... shit talk. He is seeding for me for almost 2 months
and in some of the higher trackers and also at Oink. Anyone knows how hard is
to cheat at Oink? I never cheated anywhere, but from storys i read here and
there and from what some of my friends told me it's impossible to cheat there,
the moment you think of it it's the moment you're OUT. I also like to mention
that in this 2 months he have uploaded for me around 5Tb, do you think you can
safely cheat 5Tb in 2 months? I don't think so. Anyway, stay with your
suspicious ideas and loose the good oportunitys that some people put in your
