So is it any better than existing p2p-tv applications, such as tvants, tvkoo, or pplive?

The fact that it's been developed by Zennström and Friis means that it's definitely being overhyped.

its says it has dealt with many movie studios, that means its not going to be free and while its p2p their going to use our bandwidth to share their contents, now why the heck should i pay for giving my bandwidth for their benefits

Edit: oh wait its says free, that doesn't look right. movie companies and FREE, they cant go along
only time will say what is the catch

The sticky thread titled, The Joost Invite Request Thread would probably be the best place for that.
