Tbh, some of it might have to do with

the sour taste that the prequel Star Wars trilogy gave many
the innovation that the first trilogy gave many that it did not give younger viewers since CGI was already the norm
the "OMG THEREZ A SHITLOAD OF PEOPLE FIGHTING ON SCREEN AT 1ONCE!!1!1!" from LOTR
