I think you got two and two and made five. This is how I saw it:

1. Annoying twat(s) comes along.
2. Improved Ignore Function comes along.
3. Annoying twat(s) gets a bit of flak as I.I.F. is tested.
4. Annoying twat(s) calms down.
5. Somebody blunders in a couple of days late.
