Join anonymously??

Hi, i was wondering if theres a way to join a newsserver such as giganews anonymously, ie without using a credit card or paypal which can be ultimately traced back to you? I know usenet is considered quite safe against companies such as the RIAA, but the less risk, the better. I also know that there are ways to trace through ip addresses but i was more concerned about the payment method.
