Hyperterminal is microsoft's supposed new and improved telnet client (its a sucks if you ask me). I prefer to use telnet from the command prompt. You can connect remotely by using com1 or a tcp connect which is basically a telnet session with hyperterminal. Dont make hyperterminal the default client when it ask, just use the cmd.exe to telnet.
