i have 2 lan arranged computers with windows xp sp2 with all the fixes and updates till today
but one of them, that works as a server, for some reason i've been trying to discover for weeks, after two hours on, is almost unable to communicate with this pc
it's a wired connection and all the ips and gateway are configured properly
i already tried to use a different pci card but still have the same problem
i only solve it by rebooting but i wanna know what's causing it
    can anyone help?

    Hi Jokzor,
    may I suggest
    check connections
    check cable (home made?)
if pc to pc it should be a crossover cable
if a router is involved, it should be a straight cable
    cat5,cat5e or cat6

the next item I would look at....is sometimes
automatically allowing windows to assign addresses
    can cause slowing down.
here are a couple of links that may be of some help

after two piles of badly burnt dvds (over lan) i remembered that it was an athlon xp 2000+ ...
i reduced the fsb from 133 (1666mhz wich should be his normal speed) to 100 (1250mhz)
and now i don't have any problem running it..
    amd no more..
