I don't know if the situation is different in the US - that would be your only reasonable excuse for jumping to conclusions.

I am given whisky on special occasions by my father. I have never consumed any alcohol in a public place and I have no great desire to; I view alcohol as an enhancement to a drink, not a recreational activity.

Now tell me again that I'm a hypocrite and really embarrass yourself.
