And Jpaul, I agree for the most part of what you said but Lesnar has done a bit of 'real' fighting in a japanese comp and crusified all who came against him, and there are'nt many people who can lift a man of 7'2" and 500lbs onto his shoulders and launch him into the air with such authority!
Poor old Angle knows all about it as Lesnar bust 2 of Angles vetibrea and fractured his spine and put him out of action since then in a hospital bed (unitetionly) at Wrestlemania 19!

Poor old Hulk Never could bloody wrestle, he's so stiff I think he overdosed on viagra!

He does not weight 500 lbs,not a chance.
Maybe close to 400lbs but thats starting to push it.

Wrestling as a sport wwf wcw wwe ecw whatever has been known for its lies.

I see!
So in that respect I would have to say Ric Flair

Ric Flair:-

NWA World Heavyweight Championship - 10 times
WCW International World Championship - 1 time
WCW World Heavyweight Championship - 7 times
WWF World Heavyweight Championship - 2 times
NWA/WCW U.S. Championship - 6 times
NWA World Tag Team Championship - 2 times
Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship - 3 times
Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship - 3 times
Mid-Atlantic Television Title - 2 times
Missouri State Heavyweight Title - 1 time
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - Rookie of the Year
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - Wrestler of the Year - 6 times
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - Wrestler of the Decade - 1 time
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - Match of the Year - 4 times
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - Feud of the Year - 4 times
Pro Wrestling Illustrated - The PWI 500

How's that for a list

erm....great list. wrestling is staged though. you know that surely?

so the winner isn't determined by sporting prowess, it's by the organisers who decide to rig it.

wrestling is ok to watch for laughs or whatever, but a sport?

edit: spelling

You are just having a laugh.

None of these compare with a man who has dominated his sport for over a decade.

Has been world champion 10 times and won the UK open just today.

How long were they at the top.
isn't a sportsman's performance relative to his peers?
i mean, although phil tayler is a very good darts player, isn't it possible that his opposition are lackluster rather than him being supremely talented?

Excelllent point, well made.

Thatīs why the period over which the person is dominant is so important.

No use in being the best for a couple of years, maybe everyone else was rubbish.

Taylor has been at the top for over a decade.

Oh yes.

Itīs an enormous participation sport. At least in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada. Cheap to participate.

So the number of new folk coming through has been high.

Phil "The Power" Taylor is THE MAN when it comes to Darts, no-one else comes close.

Joe Davis, World Billiards Champion for years and years. My old fella used to tell me about him, apparently had a break that lasted days!!

Michael Jordan - Surely!!

Michael Schumacher - Definately.

Tiger Woods - Undecided yet but who knows what the future holds?

As for UFC/Pride KAZUSHI SAKURABA (The Gracie Hunter) is THE MAN!!!

Good topic JPaul.

i used to have a dartboard in my room when i was younger.
within a week there were about 100 holes in the dartboard, and 500 in my walls.
