Thread: People Who Use False Movie Titles.

  1. #1
Hello, I'm sure everyone has been there when you are downloading a specific movie, etc. only to find out after you have downloaded it for god only knows for how long, it is not the movie you thought you were downloading, Well, I have had it happen too many times and would really like to know of a way to keep these people from being able to download from anyone else.
there should be a list of their names so others know that they continuously use false titles, afterall, it's not
funny, it is however irritating and annoying.
    Thanks

but you can log the ips of the bogus file sharers you've dl from- it may be more practical for music as opposed to movies coz of time spent dl but it depends how motivated you are (hey its been done for porn lol coz i have them in my pg guarding file)- and post them at the peerguardian site http://www.simply-click.org/uploadertest/pg2.asp

Exactly. That's the whole reason Avi-Preview was created wasnt it?

    @dingdongding

There's no point in that either. Most people have dynamic IP's. So it wouldnt work.

Maybe y'all should read other threads before you post. Many people have suggested to make a list of Usernames or IPs, and everytime they get the same reply. It wont work.

funny but it works for me when i'm dl porn and pg closes out bogus file sharers that are part of company efforts to spread fake files so there are examples of ppl who work within ip ranges that are not dynamic- i wasn't referring to the village idiot with an isp ip who renames files but to organized efforts.

I can't help with the basic idea of listing/blocking fake file users but I do have a method to weed out a lot of fakes from your search lists.

Find out the running time for the movie you want. Most internet reviews have this info. Anything that runs longer plus anything that is >10% less is likely to be a fake.

Case in point is the swedish porn movie that gets used a lot - this claims to run for 2hrs 57mins while Matrix Reloaded is 2hrs 18mins!

Use dat view and avipreview to check what you have got once you have 500ks or better downloaded.

ps Has anyone ever sat thru the whole of the swedish porn movie?

Downloading is fun, sharing is sublime
DOWNLOADING IS FUN - SHARING IS SUBLIME

I was not inquiring about users who change their names, but instead people who change movie titles,
    very annoying and immature.

For your information, most newbies don't even know about Avi Preview.
    and it's Newbie, not Noobie.
