I've never found car alarms to be all that effective. Even if someone does hear it go off they will either: not even bother to look because they rly could care less, or on the off chance that they do go to the window and look they might see someone near a car and just think they own it and set it off by mistake. The only type of anti-theft protection i find useful is an immobilizer.
