Well look at it this way.
In a year or so, X-Box chips are likely to decrease considerably in price, so it'll be cheaper to get an X-Box.
It's easy to chip a PS2 and get games for f*** all already.
Whereas I know no way so far to copy games on discs small enough to fit in it, let alone chip the damn thing.
Moral - Spend your cash on the Gamecube. Get great games. Wait 12-18 months and get your X-Box chipped then

Don't get an xbox, the games (I don't know about over the internet ones) just aren't as good as PS2 games. Even the ones they've transferred from ps2 just arent as smooth and in many the gameplay isn't as good. Plus no tekken so whats the point.

I dont know what consoles you are playing. i have seen and played games on both systems, PS2 does not have the graphics card or speed to compare with the XBox. or just check some reviews of the same games for both systems on Gamespot or IGN.

Yes the PS2 has more games but give it a few years and the Xbox will be flooded.
I have Madden 2002 for the Xbox, the PS2 version does not compare in graphics.
Its impossible according to the hardware specs for the PS2 to stack up to the XBox
And you can play online for free with the XBox with some free software from gamespy
