How can I see which ports are open when using some programs which opens a port?

I wanna see which port the MSN use when sending/receiving files so is there any program which can do it?

those are the main ports used by msn

there is a small utility out there called port pro that allows you to "see" what ports are beings used at any given time in real time..

if i can remember its made by simtel..

The answer to that question is simple................a tcp/udp port scanner. Everyone should have a port scanner. Run it on localhost or 127.0.0.1 to see what ports are running. You can find one just about anywhere. I use nmap for my linux boxes and superscan on windows boxes, you can get superscan from http://webattack.com but its only a tcp port scanner that should be all you need is tcp instead of tcp and udp.

Thanx for the information,I will block port 6891 - 6900 and hopefully it will work
