I have just downloaded a Freelancer .bin (677mb.)
None of the programs I have will recognise it. I have Nero 5.0, Blindwrite 4.3 and Clone CD 4.1.0.1.

When I choose to burn image in NERO selecting to look for "all files" it says nero has generated errors and will be closed by windows.

No you don't... just DL WinISO from here

WinISO can convert a .bin to an .iso without a .cue file.
...and it's incredibly easy to use, too.

Once you've created the .iso, then just burn it with Nero.

Be carefull, some peoples add ".exe" after the ".bin". You'll have to save those files under there real name (without the ".exe")

And, yes, use Winiso to create the cue file.

When the iso files is created you can use Nero or Alcohol 120% to burn your cd's

    Good luck
