    i could be wrong but i think windows xp home edition might actually be faster and better on your setup than 98SE. it crashes alot more, harder, and faster than xp.

    Well,it could be all the downloading bd has been doing on SoulSeek recently.
    Regarding paying for XP..that's silly when you get get it for free.
    But as you said, if you are lazy, then 98 is ok for you
