I got a new motherboard its a Asrock K7vm3 and I got the sound drivers for it but my mic is way to quiet I even have 20db boost on and nothing, the only way for people to hear me is if im yelling, is there anyway I can fix this?

Im using VIA AC97 audio driver 6.80b

Is the volume slider turned up on volume & on recording volume? Also, make sure it's plugged into the right jack. I gotta say tho AC97 onboard audio is horrible to have. I'd get a Creative SoundBlaster or Audigy 2 for a cheap price.

Is it possible it's just a really bad mic? If not you may wanna check the port, see if it's broken or loose, would cause that. Also did you try using the generic AC97 sound drivers and not the VIA based ones?
