with the new act that's just been passed, should i really be worried about what i'm downloading or whether the fbi will raid my house or not?

Download an MP3 or movie illegally and the Feds would then be able to seize your PC. Yep, you heard me right, SEIZE YOUR PC for illegal file-sharing, and the worst part is that after yesterday's deadline for CALEA compliance they now have the tools at their disposal to do so.
don't they send a letter to your isp then to your house if you're downloading too much or something?

    how do i protect myself?

3 years ago, PARAMOUNT sent a email to my ISP, cause i was sharing Indiana Jones DVDRip on eMule!
My ISP just warned me and forgot the issue.

After that i started using protowall, and it did job.

    Nowadays i don't use nothing.

Perhaps, but only if an ISP wants to become bankrupt.

hmm, there was another article about a new FCC guideline that would make it possible to eavesdrop on your internet activities. That is worrisome
