    Same here. I dont trust speed tests. they're never accurate I prefer to test via giganews

    So true! My crappy Verizon DSL is 1.5 megabit, and my download speed for newsgroups is usually 187kb, which is what it should be:

    128*1.5=192. 192 is the theoretical maximum, but there is always a bit of overhead.

    I pay for a maximum of 3 megabit, but no increase until FIOS is available, some day.

    There's something strange on my end...I've gotten a 400KB/s increase in the last few weeks. I now reached 1.02MB/s from 640KB/s being my max. A lot of people seem to be getting quicker speeds all of a sudden.
