What is the best format to download films in? i know 2, they are diamond, and pukka, is there any others.

Diamond and pukka is groups, not formats.
For the best releases you should just stick to DVDRips, and stay away from crappy R5 releases.
www.aboutthescene.com have a nice list of groups if you are really interested a list of groups.

divx, you can buy dedicated players, allowing you to play them on a tv without fannying about converting them. They can be had quite cheaply now.
