Crime of passion? (which i believe is an admissible defence under French law).
Not even a cigarette
But it does involve something to do with France - Keep trying![]()
He hadn't been previously tried for her murder or something had he? I think french law still has that thing about not being tried 2x for the same thing. (Is it Paris or France thats important?)
What you're talking about is Double Jeopardy and AFAIK is implemented in practically every country in the world (at least in the West). It isn't a thing exclusive to France.
ilw - AFAIK you are currently the only one answering the right questions. This is definitely the hardest one I've ever come across so you should pat yourself on the back just for getting this far
Yes - The location is important, but look at the information in the puzzle; Did I mention France, or did you assume it? That should answer your question about whether it's on about France or just Paris
One clue - There is a case of Guilty/Not Guilty, but there's a condition tagged to it. That's all I'm saying for now![]()
Guilty - but in seine![]()

My Ace of Spades...Gone. Finito. Solved. By someone. It's impossible - IMPOSSIBLE!!!
<sigh>Oh well - Hat's off to Lynx. That was not one of my best - It was my best. I've a feeling that lynx knew it and wanted to blow the whole thing down, but if he did get it right then it's remarkable to say the least.
I'll explain the answer later, but for now, according to the Riddler's Gauntlet tradition...
Now if you'll all excuse me - I have to lie down![]()

What number comes next:
7, 11, 13, 14, 19, 21, 22, 25

You gave it away when you suggested Paris specifically.Originally posted by Illuminati@4 July 2003 - 12:14

I had a quick look at a map of Paris (to see if there was anything special about the bridges), the first thing I saw was the name of the river!
You can have the cigar youself - I quit three years ago.![]()
