Mic And Specker Mess Up

someone told me to look in the check Box?? for my mic and sound does anyone know were the check Box is and how to get to it..

in the bottom right hand corner you should see a little symbol, somthing to do with sound like a little speaker or somthing..double click that then follow my instructions that i posted in the 1st post
