I love Stephen King but the scariest book ive ever read is
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
i got so involved in it i had to put it down for 3 months, and ive never had to do that with any book, it was like i was him doing the stuff, scary shit (picked it back up again and it was nothing though lol)
Best Book has to be Lord of the Rings not much of a twist though, but definately worth reading.
others
Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, suprisingly very good and i read it before any of the games (or at least just after the 1st game anyway)
anythng by Stephen King, the dark tower books im reading now are quite good, havnt finished them yet though.
Rats and Domain as well are very good by James Herbert.

Best book I ever read was the biography of Barney Curly.
For those that don't know who he is, well he was a horse racing owner, trainer, he was also a bookie and then professional gambler.
He made millions from pulling the wool over the bookies eyes with different scams!!! But they were all legit so it wasn't illegal.
The man is just a genius...
A really excellent book
