A scandal particularly with programming books. When you consider that the 'classic' programming books are bought by millions of students all over the world every year... theres no excuse for the £40-£50 price tag.
try living in australia where a "cheap" new release paperback is over $18.00

Well, if you did something illegal, they wouldn't try to understand... Just sue you and send you to jail or whatever...

My books tend to be older paperbacks from the charity shops
....although as a stereotypically tight yorkshireman, I do think 25 pence is extortionate!
Yes, libraries still exist but I don't like to go there ( too much people, too much noise...), books are in an horrible state ( missing pages, someone wrote in it...) or somebody has just borrowed the book I wanted... Plus I like to have my own books!
