You do not have to pause the download to preview the move.
But I have noticed that if you attempt to preview the file, your gat a few seconds of the video and audio together, then the video will freeze and the sound will keep going.

After you have previewed a movie and it does that, it will be like that in the completed download. Im hoping that this is not supposed to happen.....

sounds like you downloaded a damaged file from kazaa, or else kazaa damaged the file while you were downloading it. AviPreview shouldn't corrupt the files, as it can only read them, not write them. it may also be possible that you have a problem with one of your codecs.

i find that DatView works really well in combination with AviPreview. DatView shows you what the DAT files actually contain, rather than just seeing the name 347946436349862.dat or whatever. select AviPreview as an "external application" in DatView's configuration, then you can look at your shared folder with DatView, right click on a file, and click "open with app"... then it will send that file to AviPreview. it's useful if you have a lot of DLs going and can't remember which movie is going to which file.
