From the BBC website:
After initial confusion over the number of books stolen, Merseyside Police and publishers Bloomsbury confirmed the haul comprised 7,680 books worth some £130,000.

lol, this reminds me of when the PS2 hit the market and FedEx drivers were stealing them and selling them off the trucks. Of course, the PS2 was worth the money, while Rowling's books aren't good for toilet paper.
This has brightened my day a lot!
