What is my IP Address?

Your IP Address:
213.107.224.6 Thats not mine
That would be one of the proxies that YOU posted earlier and that YOU told people how to set up.

Strange that YOU don't know what it is.

ok your on ntl same as me you cant change your ip but ntl runs a proxy for all its users so all you need to do is change your proxy to some thing like
213.107.224.4
213.107.224.5
213.107.224.6
all ntl proxys
Here I think

Dude,
just unplug and replug your modem in. Your modem sends out a request for an ip evrytime you conect. eg. when the modem is on. The isp then sends you one. At least thats how it works on dsl. It should work with cable however.

I can't believe that no one in this whole thread has told this stupidguy that maybe he should modify his behavior in order to not get banned. That way it would not be a problem to fix.

it's possible to get an accidental ban though
tclite got an accidental ban from mirc for pasting in half of our msn convo accidently...twice

although i don't see how you could accidently get banned from more than one
Well he was talking about being banned from a forum and a chatroom.

A mistake at both at the same time? I don't think so. [/b][/quote]
No it was the forums chat room so when they banned me from the forum they banned me from there to.

doesn't have to be this way... the server checks and if it recognize your macadress (from the router or the network card) it often gives back the old (same) ip adress...!

You can change your i.p address on cable by a couple of ways depending on which o/s you are on.

win98/se unplug cable modem then go to start/run and type winipcfg then press release all. then restart machine/plug modem back in.
voila new i.p address

winxp pro/home/corp/media edition/fridge edition etc.... unplug cable modem
go to start/run and type in "cmd"
then type in ipconfig/all to see your i.p config

then type "ipconfig/release"

2 ways of finishing are

turn on modem and type "ipconfig/renew"

or exit command window and restart machine plugging in modem

you CANNOT change your ip address by simply turning the modem off and on.
the o/s needs to restart so that it can be assigned a fresh i.p address

I called blueyonder tech help for this and i know for a fact these instructions are the same for ntl EXCEPT when the person does not have a cable modem but has connection from back of digital cablebox. then you need to unplug digital cable box
instead of cable modem.

incidentally if you find you are being attacked a lot - change your i.p a lot !!!

last thought is - if you are "banned" are you sure it is i.p based and not cookie based ???/

If you're lucky enough to have a dynamic IP, then you can disconnect and reconnect, but if you have a static one, then you can't disconnect, you're STUCK with it.
