The TCP window size is the Receive buffer......i changed it to 900,000 and i got like T2 lol!!! Im working on 3 now
EDIT: My ISP is gonna freak.....cuz my modem can get as much as 100 Mbps so if i keep editing stuff i can get up to 100 mbps pretty soon lol
If you can pardon the language, changing my buffer to 64260 or what the author of this post said f**ked up my internet and the pages won't load at all! What is the recommended value?
I might add that I'm on a 128KB Broadband with ntl.
mine is at 999999 right now...lol.....thats the highest it goes...set it to 999999...dude i have T2 right now....i used to have less than T1
EDIT: what u said is WAY to low....
EDIT: and also i think it affects download speed alot more than upload speed
Thankyou!Originally posted by DarkBlizzard@18 June 2003 - 10:05

Tell me if your speed gets any higher.....and if it does tell me how high it gets......every time i re-take the test my speed gets about 700 kbps higer lol....it wont stop getting higher!! Soon im gonna have like T9999999 lol ya....my own made up connection thats faster than T3
I know that it affects internet speed, but what are the consequences of it? Can I get into trouble off my ISP or will it have any negative side-effects? I'm just a little-bit concerned.
Also, with my 'default' connection speed - I think. My speed was only 59K. That's less than half of what was advertised!
man lasts now much at all......my lowest test results were 1356 kbps and my highest was a little over 6000 kbps.....lol...Whats ur ISP?....Mine never checks speeds or anything so i can do whatever i want....ya im still a little concerned but oh well....
EDIT: and how fast is it now?
