I bought a thing that hooks up to my car's cigarette lighter, to make the car smell better. When I put it in it sparked and blew out the light above my head, and then I realized my radio and horn don't work anymore either. I could care less about the horn, but not having a radio is killing me. The clock on it still works, but the radio wont come one. I don't think it is the fuse, I was just wondering what else it could be. I have 1989 Chevy Caprice btw.

Its just a fuse buddie , easy to repair . I would start by replacing all of them just make sure their the same amp .

All of them seems excessive. I normally just work my way through them having a look at each to make sure they are still intact.

If you have the manual just have a look at that and it should tell you which are the radio, cigarette lighter, etc. and check them out.

It normally tells you on the underside of the fuse cover, or beside the fuse itself. In any case it's easy to work out, it's the blown one.

When he says "same amp" he means same as the one being replaced, not all the same. That would be mad.

Just get rid of the car, I think mouldy might be interested.

You might have to ship it to Canadia though.

Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

True but they don't always say.
For example, my dad's van just has a bunch of fuses and when you look in the manual there's a diagram of the fuse boxes and what each fuse is for.
Easier than pulling every fuse one at a time to look for the blown one.

    If you're an electrician like.

Otherwise it's easier to look on the cover or beside the fuse and see if it's written there.

If it's not there and there's a diagram in the manual then that might be the easiest way. However you can usually see if a car fuse is blown just by looking at it. Don't they blow at the top so you can see it easily, that point being weaker than the contacts.

Yup. It's time to get rid of it.

Especially if the ashtray is full.
