Hey
I sometimes use pictures that I've sought out in a google search.
I don't dl the image most of the time, instead I just copy the link and insert it into my post.
I was wondering if there is anything wrong with this practice?

It's OK in most cases but some websites don't like hotlinking. Lycos is a good example.

Basically, you are stealing bandwith from the sites you take those pics from.
I use pics from other sites too, but when I want to use one for a longer time (avatar, signature), I copy them, and use my free picture hoster for it.
Look here for free image hosters.

Oh yeah, that's true. It's fine for one-offs but if you're going to use the picture regularly, get your own hosting. Good point Bender.

Yeah
I figured some might get a little perterbed by this practice.
Also I never use those pic's for an avatar or sig, just for a single post or something
