Yeah, the average American (me) looks at our high gas prices and cringes every time I pull up to the pump. However, I became MUCH more appreciative after taking a few trips to Denmark this year and last.
After converting their Danish Kroner to our American Dollar, gas comes out to approximately $2 per liter. 4 liters per gallon = $8/gal. Now if THAT'S not ridiculous then I don't know what is!

Its always been high because it is heavily taxed. If a litre of petrol cost 90p, about 60 p would be duty and VAT, and the actual petrol costs about 24p.rly?
