I installed Web Cracker 4.0 yesterday. Then after that everytime I go to a site on IE without putting the "www" in the front of the address it takes me to: http://www.privacy-defence.biz/warning.html
For example, I type "yahoo.com" it takes me to http://www.privacy-defence.biz/warning.html
I type in www.yahoo.com it takes me to yahoo.com
HELP!!

see what spybot finds. it can usually find most browser hijackers. im not for sure that this is the problem, but it is very likely based on what you said. so just see if spybot finds anything related to that site or any browser hijacker.

Holy fuck... that is most paranoid propaganda spewing bullshit I've ever seen...
* They know you are using Netscape
Because I want people to know. I can change that in a heartbeat.
* They know your system is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425
Same as above.
your system language is "undefined", your processor family is "undefined"
Heh. What's the point they're trying to make again? It's fading fast...
Yes, it was blank on their page. I didn't edit it out. So, where am I from, huh?
* These words have been found in your system records:
Also blank. This is only a problem for people using IE, because it lets JavaScript copy whatever is in the clipboard.
Their little JS trick used to work on older browsers, but not anymore... Besides, they aren't showing you whats on your computer and that little trick doesn't give them access to your C: drive. When it used to work, all it did was cause your browser to show you your C: drive. That's it.
* Time of latest investigation: Today 3:30:40 a.m. on 19 June 2003
* Looking for hidden evidence...
* Processing...
Result:
1. Your Computer Is Full Of Evidence!
2. Everyone Can Access EVERYTHING Within Your PC!
Yeah... right... I'm soooo scared. /me shakes in his boots.
This is one time I wish I could command the the forces of Slashdot to take down a server using the "Slashdot effect".

That site is a pile of crap, anyone can do that, you can just put a hyperlink to the C drive, I think. Lets try...
People can see everything you can do on your computer - you can never browse through your files of porn in privacy again. Beware the hacker!!!!!
Click Here And You'll See For Yourself, just remove the http:// from the address bar
You are not safe. They know your nickname. They have your fake credit card details. They have your very unusual phone number: 999. And your Mobile No: 112. They can also see what you type: When phoning any of my numbers be sure to ask for Police and say that you are called Illea Galhacker.
The know your IP address. They know everything.
They are called your mum and your ISP!

Some crap like on that site appears when you go to PC Pitstop. A window pops up about some performance test. You click on more info, close the window, click next until a page appears and it says crap like people can see your HD using Javascript. You must disable it. Disable ActiveX etc.
