there's really no need to cheat no matter what your connection is mines not so good (I average about 300kb / 80kb for torrents) and I've never felt the need. I figure people mainly do it for the fun of fucking around

Giving away a TB buffer does seem mighty suspicious. Why would you want to get rid of an account you worked hard to build up. In my case I'd have to cheat to build a buffer like that as I live in Australia and our connections suck. which is why all my accounts only have a few gigs buffer but that's enough for me I only want what I can use.

Aussie connections are not as bad as you might imply. The 1Mb/s upload speed is more than sufficient to get at least a 2:1 (upload:download) on most trackers (including ScT). And I agree with you that it's more than enough to maintain a good buffer to be a good user.

The TB buffers that people offer are mighty suspicious, especially the relatively new accounts. Even with seedboxes it's highly improbable to get those huge buffers in such short time (few weeks or in some very stupid cases, few days). You probably need a combination of freeleech and x2 uploads to get close realistically...

I can only think of two reasons why a user would cheat so much for these stupidly large buffers (TB buffers):
1. e-penis
2. As a result of tracker trading and trying to obtain something "ranked higher".

Reasons for "normal" cheating (GB buffers):
1. Curious on how cheating works and just tried.
2. Used as an easy escape route to dig themselves out of a negative ratio hole.
3. Just a bad/lazy user.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A VALID REASON TO CHEAT!

Personally I have never cheated and have never felt the urge to. Defeats the whole purpose of bittorrenting and sharing in general. Cheaters deserve the harsh punishment they get.

don't get me wrong I find my speed is fine for my needs but when you compare it to the states for example we just can't compete.

some adsl2+ plans may be changing to annexM connections and thatll make upload jump to 3mbit/s i think its iinet thats trialling it atm
