Power Surge On Hub Port

OS XP PRO

Last day and a half I've been getting a popup from the task bar saying
"a USB device has exceeded the power limits of it hub port. for assistance click ths message."

when I click I get a window with

USB Root hub ( 2 Ports)
Unused port
? Unknown USB Device

I've not installed or unistalled any hardware or software in the last few days
all conections seem to be in place, I also removed the caseing and checked everything is connected properly.

whats the problem, is my PC about to go Pete Tong?

This most probably means that you have a faulty USB jack/hub or it may be a driver bug. Try getting updated drivers.
