Problems With Codec's!

Sorry guys but I didnt know whether or not to stick this under movies, software or hardware so I put it here. Lately I reset up my machine from scratch. I put aload of old films to cd about 20 of them. Before I formated the machine I could watch these films no problem off the cd's. However now I have all the same exact codec's setup but playing them off the cd's everything slows down!! The sound gets ahead of the picture, any ideas why??

maybe the cd cant keep up with the speed or something, not to sure, try copying across a movie to ur pc, then see if u still get the problem,
