I found the DIFX folder in my program files all of a sudden (the last thing I installed was Shockwave player) which holds dpinst.exe

Microsoft lists it as the install tool for driver frameworks, but I have no idea what relevance this holds for me. Should I install it, or is it not necassery?

If you have to ask yourself do I need this program , you probably don't . Its such a small folder tho I'd recommend just leaving it alone . Just go to folder options ,flies and click "don't show all files " problem solved .

I'm being a smart ass tho as you sound like me , have you clicked properties and seen date created ? That will give you an idea when you installed it .
