I am sorry for i am a n00b. Is there a website where you can know the difference between rock and metal for example, or even between metal and nu metal? thnks in advance, and dont flame too hard. search isn't working

Black Sheep...(Im not gonna flame you btw)...all im gonna say is that there is no way one person can say whats one genre and whats not...It's your opinion and everyone has an opinion and everyone has a right to an opinion...So there is not one site or board or anything that will change my mind on what band a genre is...I have my own set of beliefs to what is metal and what is not and what is punk and what is not...I don't think you should worry about genre's because you should like the music that you relate to the most and you like listening to the most and not what someone says you have to listen to or your not metal...(you would be only cheating yourself and not deserve to listen to music (im not saying that is you))...Anyways just keep listening to the music you like and don't let others tell you what to listen to...I mean i don't think my friends would influence Bush or Jeff Buckley or anything like that to me...But i listen to it cause i can relate and like the sound...Anyways if you still want to know...then im sure someone will come along and post a link...

Just something, is there another site other than allmusic.com? i saw it before while surfin the boards, BUT i am so stupid unitil, i ca understand things like 3 beats to a whatever. I am that much of an outsider. THe only reason i know Metallica is metal is becoz, well, The name says so

im going to make a band called "pop divas" and its going to be hard hitting metal but it wont ....well..... because the name says so.
