My advice would be use one thats in a IS if not definetly go for Comodo, not only is it free but it is the best and i use p2p all the time, fine for me just gta accept when it first wants to connect to the net and your fine. Really easy interface and very effective. Definetly reccomended, btw having more than one firewall is not bad so i reckon that getting another one as a backup would be a good idea too. Comodo and maybe Kaspersky as some people say its good.

Comodo is great for XP. For Vista the only good one seems to be Trend Micro Internet Security. I have been using it on my Vista x64 box running PG2 and uTorrent for a month now and it works great, you just have to set the security to maximum to get alerts when a program tries to access the net.

I havent used a firewall in YEARS other than the router's firewall and the built in firewalls on my respective PC's. I cannot think of why I would need one, and I do plenty of file sharing, plenty of browsing, and plenty of general stuff on the internet.

    Ashampoo.FireWall.PRO is a good firewall

Ashampoo FireWall Pro always alert and checks everything going in and out of your computer, keeping out unwanted intruders and preventing unauthorized access to the Internet from your computer. And despite its impressive power Ashampoo FireWall Pro is so simple to use in Easy Mode you can just click and go for full protection.
