    how do you figure out exactly which type of memory you have in your system? such as how many pins ect.

    theres normally a little sticker on side of your memory telling you the specs

    i'm sorry, should have clarified myself. i meant wil xp be able to tell you. i have used xp long, and was wondering.

    XP only tells you how much ram is installed or at least how much it sees.

    SiSoft Pro or something similar will give you a bit better info on the specific type of ram, cas latency ratings, clock timings, etc.
