    Hi,

I'm trying to use virtual dub to convert a vcd to avi, i've got the video compression sorted, but i was wondering what the best audio compression option is, the few ones that i've tried never work.

    Whats the best,

    thanks,

    Hugo.

I think mp3's best format was called "LAME" (no it's not lame, that's the just what it's called...) , so use that if it's avalable.

Whenever I try, it always says:

    'Error initializing audio stream compression'

    Am I doing something wrong?

in the audio menu is full processing mode selected ?

if it is and your still getting the same prob try exporting the wav file
    File > save wav.
run that through a wav editor of some discription and save it as pcm wav format.
reopen you film in virtual dub then in the audio menu select WAV AUDIO an explorer box will pop up and select the wav you just converted. then set the compression as b4.
hopefully that should work for you.
