I haven't used irc but would like to know when downloading through irc, do you have to download a large file say 700mb in one connection or can it be done over multiple connections? like Kazaa, and what is the best irc program for a beginner to start with. Thanks all.

you do download off 1 user but if you go to www.ircspy.com and check the max download speed before starting the download, if its high 1000KBs + then your good to go but if its say 30KBs and he has 10 slots then try to stay well clear as your download could be going at less than dial up pace,
as for the best program then it has to be mirc in conjunction with www.ircspy.com just read the guides on the site and you should be up and running in no time.
