Good tracker, great torrents...... everything good, except some mods.

My ratio was 1.6, until i used an unsupported(i guess) BT client and they disabled my account, accusing me of cheating in the IRC, kicked and banned my IP.

I tried to explain what might have happened, i never intended to cheat or never will on any site, and those morons won't even listen. Anyway I'm no longer interested. I have to agree with "theboxsucks" to some extent.

I'll have to chime in here to totally agree with the people who have had problems with the mods.

My experience was not that the guy I spoke to was totally outside of his rights to ban me, but that there was absolutely no chance for redemption from an honest mistake.

I signed up for the box shortly after moving to a place where I was on a router - The owner of the router was uncomfortable about me fiddling with the port forwarding so as such I was unconnectable and uploaded very little to torrent sites. I found I had downloaded nearly 9 gig of stuff and uploaded barely 2 - it wasn't looking good. I got the automated warnings, demoted to "peasant" status etc.

So a few weeks later I finally convinced the "powers that be" at home that it would be OK if I forwarded the ports in the router and got myself fully connectable - I went right back to TheBox.bz and started sharing what I had grabbed as fast as I could, posted on the "help im a peasant" thread, sent an email explaining my situation to mods. Left my machine running day or night with my 56 megabit connection working for all it was worth - which wasnt fast enough considering the limited stuff I had to share (my bandwidth was massive overkill for what was being taken)

I had a read of the rules and noticed that you had a set time limit to lose your peasant status or your account would be banned. Around this time I signed my room-mate up for an account on his computer, thinking at least if my account was terminated it would be OK, he could get the stuff for us both and we would be fine now that we were fully connectable. - Of course this is where I went wrong - even though it's two different computers, the rules say one account per household or you will be banned, and I was.

So I went to the IRC forum, cap in hand, explaining that I knew I had broken the rules, that I knew I should have read the rules properly and explained there was no "cheating" intended, I fully understood why I was banned, asked for my clear efforts to revive my "deep in the ratio hole" peasant account to be taken into consideration, but ultimately said it was their call.

Now, if the reply had been a "Sorry, rules are rules and unwittingly or not, you broke them so we cannot reactivate your account" I would have been totally fine with it - I SAID in my speech on my own behalf id be fine with any decision they made.

Instead I got a spiel about how I was obviously trying to cheat, about how "If I couldn't even handle one account how could I expect to handle two" (this, despite my explanation of my router firewall issue which was now resolved) and told to "leave and not return".

Nice bit of diplomacy there - I come to plead my case politely and am treated like a cur from the gutter by some holier than thou fuckwad.

Again, I'm aware I screwed up trying to make an account for another person's computer on this network, but the absolute zero tolerance and outright rude response to someone who has clearly come to try to do the right thing irritated the hell out of me. If I had wanted to "cheat" thebox I would have simply used free proxies to take what I wanted.

I agree that the mods are unfair. i've just been banned and when i asked why on irc, they said i was cheating. I wouldn't even know how to cheat on it! I asked them how i was cheating but they said they couldn't tell me. Then i got chucked out of the channel.

Just wanted to share my experience of being booted out of thebox.bz.
Have been a member for a few weeks, been a good boy ratio wise uploaded a couple of torrents etc.
Last night I attempted to upload the WRC from the weekend from DAVE and with my first attempt I forgot to list the date of airing source codec etc , so it was instantly deleted. Fair enough.
So I had another go this time making sure to get details correct in torrent file name, but adding a different description for the title. Again instantly deleted and my uploading rights cancelled.
PM one of site administrators for a reason, I just get a snotty 'read this' from an A hole I wont mention.
Went on to have a series of emails between us where I am trying to find out what I've done wrong and him not telling me (I remained cordial and polite by the way). So then I get a 2 week warning ! He then started throwing personal insults at me basically making out I must be really thick, which in these exact words I said 'that wasnt nice'
To which the response was 'this account has been disabled' Thrown out for annoying a little jumped up **** of a person who has nothing better to do than keep deleting torrents for no real reason other than it makes him feel like he has POWER!

So beware of upsetting anyone on thebox.bz wont you!

As you might imagine I am somewhat annoyed!!

Reason: For not doing as you were told to do READ the PM i sent - when you don't add the date , source and codec to the title you get it deleted plain and simple - telling me that there was one when the logs prove there wasn't is pure stupidity on your part - now go do as you were told

no source, no codec, no date
2nd attempt - torrent title: WRC Round 4 Argentina 2008 from DAVE
no source, no codec....

+ ur ratio was 0.5.. i dont see how that was a good ratio.. yea u werent in ratio watch, but seeding 1/2 of what u uploaded isnt good either.. its just ok.

and u were speaking with a moderator, not an admin.

everything u need to know about uploading is in the upload guide and in the upload page.. u obviously failed to do both, then ignored the pm's u were sent by only doing one of the 3 things that u were asked to do..

get ur facts right.

I really love this tracker (thebox.bz) .. I am not british so i cant cap and upload there..

But i definitely seed 'Free' torrents 24x7 and got pretty good ratio there and finally i can download 100 GB of Bookmarks that i made over 15 days

Some of very old shows are also there... Havent had any mixup with MOD as of yet (lucky me).. Nevertheless i am not plannin to upload there anything so risk of missing on minor details and getting warned is out of picture..also first i made the buffer and now i will use it for my shows so ratio wise too i am safe.. I dont post stupid.. so i guess i can say that i wont get banned
