thebox is my home, i simply love it there and am logged in and on the forums many times a day.

the content is amazing, simply amazing, and everything is so well seeded, the speeds are excellent.

with regard to the mods, i've never had a problem with them, but i chat a lot in the forums and sometimes chat in IRC so you get to know them and theyre all decent enough people, i find them very helpful, dedicated and fair (and no, im not on the staff).

its an exceptional tracker, with an exceptional community, and a beautifully designed and highly functional website which is easy and pleasant to use.

ive uploaded over 2TB there and now ive got a seedbox, i dedicate about 80% of my bandwitdth to thebox.

if you're not a member, i can't recommend it enough. it simply rocks!

Not so great anymore after getting banned!
I have been a regular user for over a year and recently got the "extreme user" status, with a ratio of way over 3.

Last night I installed and used a software ("WM Recorder", even legally purchased) that allows recording of streaming video.
And BANG! - a few minutes later I was logged out of my TheBox account, with no way to log back in, as the account is now disabled and the IP banned!
I have absolutely no idea what one should have to do with the other, but at the same time it would simply be too much of a coincidence.
Does anyone have any idea why this could have happened?

Contacting The Box on IRC was unsuccessful (nobody there!). So in my desperation I tried to create a new account on my laptop PC, but I was told again that the IP was banned. But isn't the IP of every PC unique???

I'm at my wit's end. I have uploaded way over 1 Tera over the past year, and then I get kicked out for something I did that doesn't even seem connected to the site? I don't understand!

I wasn't sure whether "kuracat" was being sarcastic when he said that those support people are "really helpful".
After getting their so-called "support", I have to conclude that he was...
Being told a dozen times that I cheated and that cheating is not allowed, is not much of a support, now is it? They refused to answer my question as to what I actually did wrong, and kept repeating the same thing over and over again, making fun of that fact that a "cheater" was actually expecting help from them...

Screw them!

So I guess that's it then for me. No more TheBox. As I cannot think of any way to get back in again, I'll have to forget about the great downloads. It was fun while it lasted.
With only really one alternative for Brit TV torrents, I'll have to take good care of that account now...

WM Recorder is the shittiest thing ever designed... it goes on and tampers with the headers ur client sends to the tracker which is why u got banned (u are more than welcome to go and complain to their developers for doing such a thing - especially if you paid for it )... at some point i ll ban it completely from the tracker to resolve this issue.

anyhow.. i ve enabled ur account since i am aware of WM Recorder and what it does, but i strongly suggest u completely uninstall it (and hope it actually uninstalls properly ) be4 trying to use the tracker again as u will get an instant ban with that software installed.. if the system disables u again I will not re-enable u.

the torrent client allowed list (http://thebox.bz/forums.php?action=v...cid=2189#25244) clearly indicates to not install this software..

I was, quite honestly, more than a little pissed off last night, after talking to support on IRC, and I'm so glad you guys did listen after all!
I honestly was not aware that this software was listed in the forum, and it didn't even occur to me to check, as I didn't in the slightest assume it could affect my TheBox account.

Anyway, I've thrown WM Recorder out for good, never mind the cost. The great torrents on TheBox are worth a lot more to me!

stay away from thebox.bz forums. they are worthless, and if the moderator doesnt like you, they will ban you from both the forums and the tracker.

the tracker is good tho.
