    could be anything,

have you run a virus check?
    is your cpu over heating?

if you have windows xp (home/pro/corp), then right click on my computer, go to properties.
then go to the advanced tab and click on settings underneath "startup and recovery"
then uncheck the box which says "automatically restart" under system failure.

this will stop your computer from restarting automatically but will not cure the problem of what is making it restart in the first place.

as Tifosi says, have you run a virus scan?
also, it is possible your system is trying to shut itself down because of excess heat.
check for your cpu temp in bios (you may not have this feature) under hardware

it might be the cpu heat cuz it is the summer in canada but the cpu fan seems to be working fine.
